Have you ever wanted to do something life-changing, something out of the norm, take a break from your routine daily life yet serve a greater purpose?
Perhaps, you might want to consider taking up the PADI divemaster course. People take up the course for a multitude of reasons, from spreading the word of conservation to a means to escape their daily routine. Whatever it may be, it starts with a common point: a passion for diving.
A recent article outlined the meaning of passion and how people view it. It says that passion may not be the thing you do everyday, that people have a rosy view when speaking of that word. Yet, little see the amount of hard work put behind the word passion. It may not be easy, but it ultimately is rewarding, and the PADI divemaster course is one of such things (assuming you love diving).
The divemaster course is the first step towards being a dive professional (and the final one for some). Working closely with a dive instructor, you expand your knowledge of diving and hone your skills. It trains and develops your leadership abilities, ultimately qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
- 18 years old
- PADI Rescue diver certification
- Emergency First Responser certification (or equivalent within the past 2 years)
- Proof of approx. 60 logged dives by the end of the course
The course allows you to work closely with a dive instructor, developing a mentor-apprentice relationship instead of a teacher-student one. Over the course of the divemaster journey, you learn both dive theory and practical skills. Most importantly, during the on-job training, you interact with current students and watch people take their first step towards the underwater world. How much more joy can one get?
