Welcoming 2014 onboard MV Nautica

For dive enthusiasts, there’s no better way to welcome 2014 than to go diving and have a great time with new friends!  That’s exactly what we did for the weekend before NYE. It was a perfect way to begin the New Year’s celebration onboard the MV Nautica. We spent 3 days diving, with a group of 17 divers that were there for 3 different reasons, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver Course and leisure divers.

First things first, the main reason for any dive trip is to go diving! So, gear up and explore the underwater world!  We were able to see some great macro life.

Rescue Diver Course is one of the most exciting courses under SSI. You get a chance to practise rescue scenarios, of course with “victims” who are role-playing and not actually getting hurt. Onboard MV Nautica, there were a couple of people completing their course and it turned out to be quite an exciting show for the rest of us.

A New Year’s celebration is not complete without sky lanterns and fireworks! And we had both.
The sky lanterns were really fun. Everyone wrote down their New Year’s resolutions on their lanterns and lit them in the hopes they would fly away.  Most did, but some came crashing down into the water. Wonder what that means….

After the fireworks, we had some prize giveaways and of course, more diving before heading back to Singapore.
